Keepsake SMS Terms & Opt-In Disclosure

Effective Date: May 1, 2026 · Last Updated: May 1, 2026

This page explains what text messages Keepsake sends, how often, and how to opt in or out. It satisfies carrier and CTIA disclosure requirements for U.S. A2P 10DLC traffic. These SMS Terms are part of our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

1. Program Description

By providing your mobile number to Keepsake, you agree to receive text (SMS) messages from Keepsake (operated by Keepsake) related to your use of the Keepsake caregiving app. The SMS program is structured in two layers — only the first is active today; the second is reserved for future features and will require its own opt-in step.

Active today — account access (sign-in OTP). When you sign in to Keepsake by phone, you receive a one-time, 6-digit verification code by SMS. This is the primary mechanism by which we confirm that the person signing in controls the phone number on the account. You also receive a verification SMS if you take a sensitive account action that requires re-verification.

Reserved for future features — care notifications. We may introduce additional SMS categories in a future release of Keepsake, including (a) task reminders when you have not configured local device-notification reminders, (b) caregiver-invitation links when an Owner invites you to help with a Care Recipient, and (c) transactional updates tied to an action another caregiver on your team took (for example, "a new document was added"). These categories are not active today: today, task reminders are delivered as on-device local notifications, and caregivers are added to a Care Recipient profile through manual operational support. Before we activate any of these SMS categories, we will update these SMS Terms, notify existing users, and (for new categories) collect fresh consent.

All Keepsake SMS messages are triggered by an action you take inside the app (or, in the case of any future shared-Care-Recipient notifications, an action another caregiver on your team takes). Keepsake does not send marketing, advertising, or promotional SMS.

2. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your usage of the app. Today, a typical user receives roughly 0–4 verification messages per month — one each time you sign in on a new device. You may receive more during account setup or troubleshooting, and none at all during periods when you remain signed in. If we activate the "care notification" category in the future, the upper bound will increase and we will update this section accordingly.

3. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. Keepsake does not charge for SMS; charges (if any) come from your wireless carrier.

4. How to Opt In

Because phone-based sign-in is the primary way to access Keepsake, entering your phone number to sign in or sign up is itself the opt-in to receive verification SMS, and the act of submitting your number is the consent. The legal copy beneath the phone-number entry field links to these SMS Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to receive SMS at all, you can sign in to Keepsake with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google instead, which do not require an SMS verification code.

You may also opt in (or re-opt-in) to Keepsake SMS by:

  • Replying START to a prior Keepsake number if you previously opted out.
  • Entering or updating your phone number in your Keepsake account through Clerk's account management surface.

If we activate any future SMS category beyond verification (see Section 1), opt-in for that category will be a separate, explicit in-app step.

Your consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can use the Keepsake app without ever receiving SMS by signing in with Apple or Google instead.

Consent language (this is what appears below the phone-number entry field)

By tapping Continue, I agree to receive an automated, one-time SMS verification code from Keepsake at the phone number I provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies based on how often I sign in. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. See the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

5. How to Opt Out (Stop Messages)

You can stop receiving Keepsake text messages at any time by replying any of the following (case-insensitive) to any Keepsake message:

STOP · STOPALL · UNSUBSCRIBE · CANCEL · END · QUIT

You will receive one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed — for example:

Keepsake: You have been unsubscribed from Keepsake texts and will receive no more messages. Reply START to opt back in.

After that, Keepsake will not send further SMS to the number until you opt back in. Opting out of SMS does not delete your Keepsake account; to delete your account, email info@keepsakecares.com as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you opt out of SMS, you will still be able to use the Keepsake app by signing in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Phone-based sign-in requires an SMS verification code; if SMS is turned off for your number, please switch to Apple or Google sign-in (or contact us at info@keepsakecares.com for help).

6. How to Get Help

Reply HELP or INFO to any Keepsake message for help. You will receive an automated reply that looks like:

Keepsake: Account and care-notification texts. For help, email info@keepsakecares.com. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

You can also email info@keepsakecares.com for support at any time.

7. Changing Your Phone Number

If you change or release your mobile phone number, update it in your Keepsake account (Settings → Profile) before discontinuing service on the old number, so that future recipients of the old number do not receive your messages. We are not responsible for messages delivered to a number you no longer control but have not updated in your account.

8. Supported Carriers

Keepsake SMS is supported on all major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and their subsidiaries and MVNOs. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Privacy

Your mobile phone number, opt-in status, opt-in timestamp, and inbound STOP/HELP messages are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Keepsake SMS messages are arranged through our identity and authentication provider, Clerk. When you sign in with your phone number, your number is sent to Clerk, which generates a one-time passcode and dispatches the SMS through its own messaging subprocessors (which include carrier-grade SMS providers such as Twilio). Clerk and its messaging subprocessors process your phone number on our behalf under contractual terms that limit their use to providing services to us.

We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to opt in to Keepsake SMS. See our Terms of Service for full eligibility terms.

11. Changes to These SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. For material changes to the SMS program (for example, a new message category), we will notify you by email and/or in-app banner at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the SMS program after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
