Frequently asked questions

How do I create a Keepsake account?

Download Keepsake from the App Store on an iPhone running iOS 16 or later, open the app, and sign in with your phone number or Apple ID. After verification, the app walks you through creating a folder for the person you're helping care for.

How do I share the care folder with a sibling or another caregiver?

Open the folder, tap the people icon at the top, and send an invite by phone number or email. The person you invite installs Keepsake, opens the invite, and accepts. You choose whether they can view, edit, or own the folder. Owners can change anyone else's role later.

Why isn't a voice memo or document syncing?

Keepsake uploads when the app is open and the device has internet. If a voice memo or scanned document is stuck, open Keepsake, leave it in the foreground for a minute on a stable Wi-Fi connection, and pull the folder to refresh. If it's still stuck, email info@keepsakecares.com with the rough time you recorded it and we'll dig in.

Is Keepsake a medical record? Is it HIPAA-protected?

No on both. Keepsake is a consumer app that helps families coordinate day-to-day care. It is not a clinical record and it is not HIPAA-protected. For an official record, ask your loved one's healthcare provider. Our Privacy Policy explains what Keepsake does and doesn't do with the information you store.

How do I delete my Keepsake account or remove all my data?

Open Settings inside the app, tap Account, and choose Delete account. If you can't reach the screen for any reason, email info@keepsakecares.com from the address tied to your account with "Delete my account" in the subject. Data is removed within 60 days under our Privacy Policy.

Is Keepsake on Android?

Not yet — Keepsake is iPhone-only today. If you have someone in your family on Android, join the Android waitlist and we'll email when it's ready.

Does Keepsake cost anything?

No. The app is free and we do not run third-party ads or sell any of the information you store. Hosting and the team are funded by the makers.
